SICK OF FORGETTING TO UPLOAD THIS!!!! :iconfacepalmplz: So I'm doing it now before it gets too late at night. Again.

ANYWAYS. This was the cosplay I put together and wore to ConnectiCon this year! :squee: Marks my first Yu-Gi-Oh cosplay as well as the first article of clothing I made on my own. :) (The vest, if you couldn't see)

Pardon a few little messy things about me in this; my shirt was a little sloppy at the bottom, my real hair poking out from underneath both my wig cap and wig up at the part, the wig bangs not spiked out correctly in my face, my bunched up headband, and the fact that you can see the ring on my left pinky. ^^; And not to mention my smile; my smile just screams "derpy" to me whenever I see it... :iconderpyhoovesplz:

This cosplay has been a dream to me for so long. Last year I never thought I would have been able to cosplay as a Yu-Gi-Oh series character. But this year I had the drive to finally make this dream cosplay a reality. I decided to go with Team Satisfaction Kiryu Kyosuke/Kalin Kessler (not a big fan of the English name :/) because I have no experience in wig cutting and styling, and Kiryu is one of my favorite 5D's characters and seemed easy and practical to put together.

I ordered the wig and didn't need to cut it aside from the bangs, they needed to be trimmed. I even wound up going to JoAnn Fabric three times to get the fabrics I needed. First time for the fluffy fabric for the shoulder trim, and the brown fabric I got wound up being too light and thin, second time I got brown lineless corduroy (as it was easier to work with), third time I got the off-white twill tape for the off-white trimming.

All of the construction and detailing from my vest can be found here: [link]

Given my end result, I can say that I am DEFINITELY VERY HAPPY with this cosplay. :meow: If my brothers and I end up going to NY Comic-Con again this year I'm definitely wearing this again.

The only big missing detail from this is a duel disk. :( I dun have one yet... either some day I'll go to Toys R Us to get one, or perhaps I'll construct one on my own. Have no idea how I'd go about constructing one; cardboard and wood came to mind, but cardboard can be too flimsy and wood can be heavy and hard and could hurt somebody. ^^; I'll get it all thought out some day though!

This was taken towards the end of mine and my friends Kayla and Andrew's stay that day. We were there for Saturday till about 8 at night. You can kinda see the dark circles around my eyes. :XD:

I absolutely loved ConnectiCon this year. :meow: I even had a short duel with :iconatticus-starr: in the evening. Which was awesome. >:3

I carried a prop that had nothing to do with the series I dressed from; Plank from "Ed, Edd n' Eddy". :XD: Plank got lots of love. Who wouldn't love him?

LONG DESCRIPTION IS LONG AND I THINK I'VE BEEN WRITING THIS FOR ABOUT HALF-AN-HOUR. D: I'LL SHUT UP AND WRAP UP NOW M'KAY?

^^; VERY sorry for the long description... I tend to have a lot to say a lot of the time.

Kiryu is obviously cosplayed by :iconcoco-gash-jirachi: (me)
